Who we are
Scotch Racer is a private, independent concierge for rare whisky and fine wine, working from Miami and London. You can reach us through the enquiry form on this site or by direct message on Instagram.
What we collect
Only what you choose to send us through the enquiry or valuation form: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, your contact preferences, and the details of the bottle and anything else you write. We also record which page the form was sent from.
What we do not collect
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. It loads no third-party scripts, and its fonts are served from our own site.
What stays on your device
Your browser remembers that you confirmed you are 21 or over, and whether you chose to reduce motion. While you fill in the enquiry form, an unsent draft is kept for that browser tab so you do not lose it, and after you send a form the tab notes the time to prevent accidental duplicates. These stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
The Members’ Vault
If you join the Vault, we hold the email address you sign in with and what you choose to add: your display name, your country, the items in your cellar with their details and values, any photos, documents and lists you upload, and, if you use them, your payout wallet address, offers, trades, delivery details and bar orders. Other members see only your display name and the items you choose to show in the Gallery, never your email, country, values, prices paid, storage, notes or documents. When you trade, your delivery details are shared with the other member for that delivery only. Scotch Racer staff can see Vault records so that we can run escrow, resolve disputes and help with your collection.
In the Lounges, members in the same room see your display name, that you are there, and the virtual drink you were last served. Messages and toasts you post are visible to members in that room and are kept for 30 days. Scotch Racer staff can review reported messages, hide them, and pause a member’s access to the Lounges.
Ambrose Vale, the host of the Lounges, is an AI. When you ask him something, your question, your display name, the virtual drinks you have been served, and the names of the items in your cellar (never their values, prices paid, storage, notes or documents) are sent to Anthropic, which runs the AI model, to write his reply. If his voice is on, his reply (which may include your display name) is sent to ElevenLabs to be spoken. Your conversation with Ambrose is private to you; other members never see it. We keep it so he can follow the thread, delete it when you ask, and Scotch Racer staff can see it if we need to investigate misuse.
Signing in keeps a session token in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in on that device. It is not a cookie and is not used for tracking. Signing out removes it.
How we use your details
To reply to you and to handle your enquiry, valuation or any transaction that follows. We do not sell your details, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
Who processes your details for us
Supabase stores form submissions and Vault records and files in our private database. Resend sends us an internal notification email when a form is submitted, and sends Vault sign-in emails. Anthropic processes questions you put to Ambrose Vale to generate his replies. ElevenLabs turns Ambrose’s replies into speech; it receives only his words, never your questions or your Vault details. Microsoft hosts our email. Cloudflare hosts this site and, like any web host, processes basic technical information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect it. Each acts on our instructions.
How long we keep them
For as long as we need them to handle your enquiry and any resulting transaction, and to keep the records the law requires. You can ask us to delete your details sooner, and we will unless we are required to keep them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you, to object to how we use them, and to complain to a data protection authority such as the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK. To make a request, contact us through the enquiry form or Instagram.
Age
This site is for adults aged 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect details from anyone younger.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date. Last updated 21 October 2026.
